Irrelevant Comments.

As I’ve mentioned before, I observe a lot of unimportant stuff.

This post is in continuation of other weird observations : ‘Unsupportive Bloggers‘, ‘Plagiarism‘ and ‘Like, Like, Like‘.

So let’s talk about the second most irritating habit of bloggers : stupid, irrelevant comments.

I had written a post about a wonderful app called ‘Google Translate‘.

Like all ‘The Taunting Tempest‘ posts, it was intended to make people laugh, not to light fires or burn down blogs.

But one blogger (a complete stranger) decided to comment in a very special way.

You can hop onto the post to read the entire comment, I’ll just post a snippet of it over here :

And he goes on, and on, and on. How in the world does he have so much time to explain the meaning of words, when his comment isn’t even remotely related to what I posted?

Also, I am sure I took less time writing that post than he did writing that comment!

Anyway, this was my reply, and then his reply :

My observations :

1) In his first comment he says that maybe he belongs to the group which uploads utter bull**** posts.

2) In his second comment/reply he can’t stop speaking about how amazing his blog and his posts are.

Make up your mind, you confused multilingual individual (I could have used a better word. *wink*).

I absolutely hate it when people try to promote their blog through arrogance. If you’re going to behave like an arrogant prick, why in the world would I want to read what you write?

Another classic example, a comment on the same post :

I don’t understand this comment. In what way is it related to Google Translate???

I am sure you all have had some lovely person comment on your posts, “Great post. Do check out my posts/blog as well.

The thing these people don’t realise is that by forcing others to visit their blogs they aren’t attracting visitors, they are hunting them away.

Where has true appreciation gone? Why can’t bloggers comment on posts they genuinely like, with no intention of gaining more ‘likes’ on their own posts?

I’d love to hear about the wonderful, irrelevant comments you’ll have got on your posts.

Don’t worry, your secrets are safe with me (and the other bunch of people who spy on my post’s comment section).*wink*

Thank you for reading! Stay blessed!

    1. Exactly! But I prefer not to follow arrogant people like him. πŸ˜‚
I have no clue who he is, a complete stranger.
Being a very very kind person (haha), I thought it better to strike off his name. But you can always check out who he is, in the comment section on my Google Translate post. 😜😁

  1. This is so relatable. I have encountered such bloggers as well. They will write a super intelligent comment and it would take ages for me to decipher what he/she meansπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
But I have encountered the second kind of people more. I think there is someone or the other commenting like this and literally, one time, a person was forcing me to visit her blog and it was in another language which is weird. She would comment on my every post asking me if I visited her blogπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Anyway, this was hilarious and the person is a legend giving you language classes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. Hahaha that sounds hilarious! I think people should write their comment and then explain in detail what exactly they meant. Would save us a lot of trouble! 😜
That’s really crazy of that lady. Did she expect you to learn the new language? You should have been sarcastic and told her that you absolutely loved her posts. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ
I know right, hats off to that man! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      1. Yeah, it’s like they should write a line and then write the paraphrase πŸ˜‚
I don’t know what she had thought. I think she wanted me to just follow her and like her or she didn’t know that not everyone knows her language. I should have been sarcastic but at that time I was new to blogging and I didn’t know what to doπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        1. Ohh. Hahaha. Crazy bloggers they are. πŸ˜€
I agree, when we first join WordPress we have to be very polite, otherwise nobody will read what we write. πŸ˜€

            1. Hahaha. I will make sure I write about you too. πŸ˜‚
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry child. See Ellen’s got a plan for you. 😎😎

  2. You know your blog is the best when it comes to Long and Short reads, after an exhausting day, I would love to read something which is quite direct and makes sense. And your blogs are best. Keep writing.

  3. At least you got original spam from this dude. πŸ˜‚ the spam I get comes from a bunch of different people but it’s the exact same spam. Once I had to delete 20 of them in my spam folder. (Yes, I permanently delete spam after a while)

    1. Oh this was spam? I didn’t know that. I thought he was really irritated with my post, and wanted to show off his Finnish. πŸ˜‚
The second comment is spam though, I agree. I kept it there so that I could make fun of it. πŸ˜› Permanently deleting spam is wise. ☺️

      1. Sorry I assumed that those comments all went to your spam folder, including the first one. I think it’s funny that you decided to troll him back πŸ˜‚ Yeah, I delete it permanently because it doesn’t even deserve a spot in my spam folder πŸ˜…

        1. Hahaha no, no, those comments appeared directly on my post. πŸ˜€
I delete the spam folder on my mail, but then my WP spam folder is always empty. πŸ˜€
Thank you for stopping by, Hilary. So nice to meet you. πŸ™‚

          1. It’s really nice to meet you too, Ellen! I enjoy reading your blog posts and learning more about you. I hope you’re having a wonderful day! 😊🌺

  4. I had one recently, too. I blocked this bloggers IP address so that they cannot comment. Same thing, bragging about how prolific that they are, blah, blah, blah. I’m not remotely interested in this bloggers post, nor will I give this blogger any publicity, either. Sigh. If their blogs are so great, then they don’t need to explain to us why. πŸ˜€

    1. I didn’t know that you can block an IP address. πŸ˜€
Anyway, I only wrote this post to shed some light on the absolute bull people comment. No intention of giving him any publicity. Haha.
I agree, their work should speak for itself, they don’t need to brag if it is so good. πŸ˜€

    1. Hahaha really? You can speak to the guy who wrote that comment on my post, I’m sure he has plenty of time to comment on everyone’s post. πŸ˜€

  5. Haha! This is hilarious! Honestly, I won’t lie, I have recieved some bizarre comments in the past few months, but nothing as crazy as this one. I am sure, reading that comment would have entertained you wellπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
People just go around, shamelessly mentioning the links to their blog in the comment section, and they don’t realise that this isn’t helping their blog. Only bringing their reputation down, if anything at all😌😌
Needless to say, you slayed ’em with your sarcasm. You rock girl 😎
PS: Hi! This is Gauri! I don’t know if you remember me πŸ˜…πŸ˜… This one’s another blog of mine!😊
Have a great day ahead πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

    1. Hey Gauri!! Nice to know that you have another blog as well. πŸ™‚
Thank you for your kind words, as always. πŸ™‚
Well, when I read that guy’s comment I actually got a little pissed, because he seemed to be so angry when I didn’t insult him at all. Crazy idiot. πŸ˜€
Oh you experienced the same? Some bloggers never learn. They know that their comments are useless, but they’ll never stop. πŸ˜€
